Closet Cleaning
Sounds exciting, no? Well, a few weeks ago when Jeff was out of town on business for a few days, I took the opportunity to work on our bedroom closet because I knew this would be one of those projects were it gets worse before it gets better. I should have taken a before picture (just trust me, it was baaaad), but here is the after:
See that back wall in the last picture? You couldn’t even reach it before. I threw out a bunch of stuff, and bought some much needed organization items: shoe rack, wire shelf, wall hooks (all from The Container Store), and wire basket drawers (IKEA). We have an old house, which means our closets are small and we have to make the most of the space we have.
Happiness is a clean, organized closet.
Okay, so it might be a little weird, nerdy, obsessive, you-fill-in-the-appropriate-adjective-here to get excited about closet organization, but that’s who I am, folks. That’s who I am.

My closet is 20% full of DVDs and books.
… now that I say this I had a dream last night that Matthew Rolston (this photographer) visited my house and was going to give me DVDs, but only if I proved I was a DVD lover. I showed him my closet collection. And then he made me a peanut butter cake. Weird.
Please come work on my closet next! Actually, the biggest problem with my closet is that nothing is IN it – it’s all on the bedroom floor instead. I have no time for this opening and closing closet doors business.
Lovely! I am all about tidy closets. Very nice!
oh, yes… i can appreciate this. our house has ONE closet — and i’m still trying to figure out the best way to store everything…
Love this post. I’m really excited because I just moved and have been living out of a suitcase for a month and tomorrow I’m getting all my things and I can completely start OVER with organization.
you’re preaching to the choir here! i love organizing. not that you would know it now, to look at my room. my part of the apartment has NO closets!!! it’s completely throwing me off.
