Five-Senses Friday

2010 October 29
by Sarah

Today I am…

smelling: paint fumes, flowers given by a dear friend

feeling: warm, soft, coziness of my favorite blanket; thankful for good health

tasting: pomegranate kefir; grilled cheese with pickles; sweet bread, white chicken chili, key lime cheesecake

hearing: a familiar voice narrating an audiobook; laughter in chorus of three wonderful women I am privileged to call friends

seeing: dull and dingy turned into fresh and bright; God’s gift of grace in my life

What about you?

Can I use this as an example in my writing class with my 3rd graders? I am always telling them to use their senses when they write!

I emailed you back about Aunt Ruth and Aunt Evelyn. Thanks for the reminder! I am painting trim in the living room: dull, dingy, dirty off-white to fresh, bright “polar bear” white. Paint colors have such funny names. :) The living room will take awhile, then I will have the dining room and upstairs hallway.
