Signs of Life

2010 March 10
by Sarah

Today was mostly sunny and in the mid-60s. Hallelujah! I opened all the windows and it felt glorious, absolutely glorious. I even wore a t-shirt outside! I just keep reminding myself that it is still March and there is still time for it to get cold and even—dare I say it—snowy again. But I’ll take it as long as it lasts.

A close inspection of the yard and garden today found not only crocus blooming, but also the first shoots of hyacinth, daffodils, daylily, catmint, sedum, and aster. I have a feeling that catmint is going to be one of my new favorite plants. I’m so glad I substituted it into my plan last fall for my newest perennial bed.

Ah, the gardening bug is biting early this year! I can’t wait to get back at my flowers again and try more vegetables.
